Leiling Town, belonging to Chaonan District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province, is located in the southern part of Chaonan District, at the foothills of Daxan Mountain at the junction of Chao, Pu and Huizhou cities (counties) in the eastern part of Guangdong, bordering with Huilai County from the southeast to the southwest, and connecting with Chengtian Town, Lioying Town and Hongchang Town from the northeast to the northwest. The area is 63.19 square kilometers. As of the end of 2020, Leiling Township had a household population of 48,122.
During the Song and Yuan dynasties, it was part of Xinxing Township; in 1950, it was part of the 10th District of Chaoyang County; in 1958, it was transferred to Huilai County; in 1961, it was reallocated to Chaoyang County, and Leiling People's Commune was established; in 1986, it was changed to a town. As of October 2021, Leiling Town has 1 community and 14 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. The town's people's government is located in Leiling Township, No. 289.On September 24, 2019, Leiling Township (Lychee) was selected to be on the list of the ninth batch of national "one village, one product" demonstration villages and towns.
