Chiyuan Town, belongs to Minqing County, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, Chiyuan Town is located in the southwestern part of Minqing County, bordering with Bandong Town and Tazhuang Town in the east, connected with Provincial Juan Town in the southeast, connected with Shanglian Township in the south, neighboring Tangchuan Township of Yuxi County in the west, Jinsha Township in the north, and Bailizhong Township in the northeast. The administrative area is 106.68 square kilometers.
In July, 1949, Shuangzhi Township was established; in September, 1958, Chiyuan Commune was merged with Shanglian Township; in July, 1984, Chiyuan Commune was established. The commune was abolished and changed into Chi Yuan Township. As of October 2021, Chiyuan Township has 1 community and 19 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. The People's Government of the town is located at No.1 Zhinan Street, Jiyuan Village.
