Changtan Town is located in the hinterland of Wanzhou District Jiangnan Area, 23 kilometers away from the main city, 318 National Highway and the largest tributary of the Yangtze River in the area of the Mudiao Creek crosses the town. Town area of 127.8 square kilometers, jurisdiction over 11 villages and 3 communities 34,600 people. As of 2008, the built-up area of the town of 1.22 square kilometers, the town's resident population of 8904 people. The town is rich in coal, ore, water conservancy and forestry resources, with Chongqing Municipal Scenic Spot Longmenxia Hot Spring and coal mining plant, and is the energy town, specialty agricultural products base and ecological leisure backyard of Wanzhou District.
