Xintian Town is located in the central part of Wanzhou District, bordering the south bank of Yangtze River. It has an area of 152.1 square kilometers and a population of 47,600 (2004). It has 5 communities of Wuxin, Wuyi, Jinshan, Yanjing and Xiaoling, and 9 administrative villages of Tiande, Xicun, Tanshao, Wuxi, Tongma, Gaojia, Xingjia, Dongcun and Yihe. There is a passenger and cargo terminal on the Yangtze River, and the highway is connected to National Highway 318.
