Dongsheng Town, a town (district) under the jurisdiction of Haidian District, Beijing, is located in the east-central part of Haidian District, between longitude 116°19′10″~116°23′20″E and latitude 39°59′29″~40°03′14″N. It is connected with Chaoyang District in the east and bordered with Xicheng District in the south by Xizhimen. It is connected with Chaoyang District in the east, bordering Xicheng District from Xizhimen in the south, bordering Qinghuayuan Street and Zhongguancun Street with Zhongguancun Street in the west, and bordering Changping District from Xisanqi in the north. The maximum distance between east and west of the district is 6 kilometers, the maximum distance between north and south is 6.9 kilometers, with a total area of 8.3 square kilometers.
In August 1958, Dazhongsi Township, Wudaokou Township, North Taipingzhuang Office merged into Dongsheng People's Commune. in April 1984, Dongsheng Commune was changed to a township. in December 2001, Dongsheng District Office was set up, and Dongsheng Township implemented "a set of people, two brands" system. 2011, Dongsheng Township was abolished, Dongsheng Township was set up and retained. In 2011, Dongsheng Township was abolished and Dongsheng Township was established, with the Dongsheng Regional Office retained.
