Ganjiakou Street is subordinate to Haidian District of Beijing. Located in the southeastern part of Haidian District, east to Sanlihe Road, and the Xicheng District Exhibition Road Street, Fouwai Street, Yuetan Street across the road as neighbors. West to the North Road of the West Third Ring Road, with Bali Zhuang Street and Yuyuantan Township adjacent. South to Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, south of Yuyuantan Park, adjacent to Yangfangdian Street. North to Xizhimenwai Street, Zizhuyuan Road, and North Xiaguan Street, Zizhuyuan Street adjacent to a total area of 6.49 square kilometers. It has a population of 147,000, and in addition to the Han Chinese, there are 26 other ethnic groups, including Manchu, Hui, Mongolian, Korean, Uyghur, Tibetan, Kazakh, Zhuang, Bai, Tujia, Sibe, Miao, Daur, Yi, Dong, Naxi, Li, She, Gelao, Yao, Buyei, Dai, Lahu, Shui, Qiang, Uzbek and so on. As of October 2021, Ganjiakou Street has 24 neighborhoods under its jurisdiction, and Ganjiakou Street is located at No. 2, South Second Street, Fucheng Road.
Ganjiakou Street, so named because it is located in the Ganjiakou area. During the Republic of China period, it belonged to the six districts in the suburbs of Beiping, and from August 1, 1950 to August 31, 1952, it belonged to the thirteenth district, i.e., Yuyuantan Township of Haidian District, and in 1958, it was a part of Yuyuantan Commune, and in 1963, it was established as Ganjiakou Street. There are four institutions of higher learning, five hospitals and the Central Television Tower, Yuyuantan Park and Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.
