Hexian, belonging to Maanshan City, Anhui Province, is located in the center of the Yangtze River Delta, the eastern part of Anhui Province, the north bank of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, between longitude 118 ° 04′ - 118 ° 29′, latitude 31 ° 22′ - 32 ° 03′ between the southeast and the Wuhu City, Wuhu City, Yuxikou, the south and the city of WUWEI with the Yuxi River as the border, the west and the County of Henshan Bordering the Chu River in the northwest and Chuzhou City, Quanjiao County adjacent to the northeast and Nanjing City, separated by a bridge, the east side of the Yangtze River, across the river to Nanjing, Maanshan, Wuhu, the three major cities. The ancient name of Hexian was Liyang, named after "Li Shui in the south of the county", which has a history of more than 2,200 years. On November 12, 1911, the first year of the Republic of China, Hezhou was changed to Hexian County, and in August 2011, Hexian County (except Shenxiang Town) was transferred to Maanshan City. In Hexian County, there are historical and cultural sites such as "Hexian Ape Man", Bawang Ancestral Hall, Tianmen Mountain, and the ugly room. Zhang Ji, a poet in Tang Dynasty, Du Mo, a songwriter in Song Dynasty, Dai Chong, a poet in Ming Dynasty, and Dai Benxiao, a painter in Qing Dynasty are all from Hezhou. Hexian fed the contemporary grass saint Lin Sanzhi and raised Xu Haifeng, China's first gold medalist in the Olympic Games.
In 2022, the gross regional product of Hexian County will be 35.347 billion yuan (including Zhengpugang New Area), with a growth of 6.4% at comparable prices. Among them, the primary, secondary and tertiary industries realized an added value of 3.129 billion yuan, 15.397 billion yuan and 16.821 billion yuan, respectively, with a three-industry structure ratio of 8.9:43.6:47.6.The per capita GDP reached 85,900 yuan.
