Yushan District, belonging to Maanshan City, Anhui Province, is bordered by the Yangtze River in the west, with Hexian County, Henshan County and Zhengpugang New District across the river, bordering Jiangning District in Nanjing in the east, connecting with Dangtu County and Bowang District in the south, and connecting with Huashan District in the north, with a total area of 1,743,434 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, Yushan District had a household population of 255,834,000.
Yushan District was founded in 1976, named after the Rainy Mountain in its territory. It is also home to Cai Shi Jie, the first of the "Three Isles of the Yangtze River"; Taibai Tower, one of the "Three Buildings and One Pavilion of the Yangtze River"; Zhu Ran's Tomb, one of the top ten discoveries of Chinese archaeology in the 1980s; Lin Sanzhi Art Museum, the "Contemporary Cursive Sage"; and ancient temples and monasteries. Lin Sanzhi Art Museum, the ancient Zen temple Guangji Temple, the incense-rich Xiao Jiuhua, the ancient human ruins Yandun Mountain and other important cultural and tourism resources gathered in Yushan. Many cultural facilities such as Maanshan City Grand Theater, library, museum, science and technology museum, planning museum, Anhui University of Technology, Maanshan Normal Higher and Specialized School, Wanjiang Institute of Technology, Maanshan Institute of Vocational Technology, Anhui Metallurgical Science and Technology Vocational College, and other colleges and universities are located in Yushan District.
In 2022, Yushan District will realize a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 25.765 billion yuan, of which 267 million yuan will be added to the primary industry, 9.58 billion yuan to the secondary industry, and 15.917 billion yuan to the tertiary industry.
