Park Overview
The Hefei National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (referred to as the High-Tech Zone) was established in 1991 as one of the first national-level high-tech zones approved by the State Council. It serves as the core area of the Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center, the innovation hub of the Hefei Binhu Science City, a National Demonstration Zone for Independent Innovation, one of the first National Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Demonstration Bases, the core area of the Hefei Section of the China (Anhui) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and the core area of Anhui’s “UST Silicon Valley.”Covering an area of 194 square kilometers, the zone administers eight subdistrict-level community service centers and has a permanent population of 334,000. In the first three quarters of 2025, GDP grew by 7.0% year-on-year.

Adhering to its founding principle of “developing high technology and achieving industrialization,” the High-Tech Zone has charted a path of endogenous development centered on “science-technology-innovation-industry.” In 2018, it was included in the list of “world-class high-tech parks” under construction.
