Bowang District, belongs to Maanshan City, Anhui Province. It is located in the easternmost part of Maanshan City, relying on Hengwang Mountain in the north and Shishu Lake in the south, and bordering on Jiangning, Lishui and Gaochun Districts in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, with a total area of 351 square kilometers. As of June 2023, there are three towns under the jurisdiction of Bowang District.In 2022, Bowang District had a household population of 189,100 and a resident population of 162,000. In 1965, Bowang was established as Bowang District, with 4 communes under its jurisdiction. 1970, Bowang District was divided into 2 communes, Bowang and Xinbo, and in September 2012, Bowang District was established. In 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Bowang District was 15.491 billion yuan, an increase of 3.3% over the previous year. Among them, the added value of primary industry is 1.033 billion yuan, the added value of secondary industry is 8.228 billion yuan; the added value of tertiary industry is 6.230 billion yuan, an increase of 2.2%.
