Putuo District, belonging to Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the southeastern Zhoushan Islands, located in the Yangtze River, Qiantang River, Yongjiang River into the sea at the convergence of the subtropical monsoon climate, the jurisdiction of the area of 6,730 square kilometers, of which the area of the sea area of 6,269.4 square kilometers, the land area of 4,580.6 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of Putuo District was 385,500 people. As of June 2023, Putuo District has four streets and five towns under its jurisdiction, with the district people's government stationed at 169 Changzheng Street.

The main attractions include Putuo Mountain, Shenjiamen, Baisha Island, Peach Blossom Island and Dongji Island.
In 2022, Putuo District realized a regional GDP of 40.967 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 4.0% at comparable prices.
