Nanyu Town is a town under the jurisdiction of Zhenkang County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province, located in the southwestern frontier of Yunnan Province, west of Lincang City, the middle part of the China-Myanmar border, Nanyu Town is connected with Mufang Township in the east, Mengding Township of Gengma County in the south, Kokang County of Shan State of Myanmar in the west, and Fengwei Township and Mengdui Township in the north, and it is the resident of Zhenkang County and the center of the whole county's politics, economy, culture, and commerce. As of 2013, Nanshou Township has a land area of 544.1 square kilometers, with 2 communities and 14 villages under its jurisdiction, Nanshou Township has a total population of 45,375 (2017) and 11,118 households. Nanshou town is located in the southern end of the Hengduan mountain system, belongs to the middle and low valleys of southwestern Yunnan, located in the southwest frontier, is a low latitude mountainous area, near the Tropic of Cancer, forming the southern subtropical climate type and typical three-dimensional climatic characteristics. in July 1991 Nanshou port was listed as a national second-class port, and at the end of 2013, it was approved as a national port. in 2014, Nanshou town realized a GDP of RMB 370 million yuan.
