Zhenkang County, belonging to Lincang City of Yunnan Province, is located in the southwest frontier of Yunnan Province, west of Lincang City, between the lower reaches of Nanting River and the lower reaches of Nujiang River and the north and south water, bordering Gengma Dai and Wa Autonomous County in the south, Yongde County in the east, Kokang County of Myanmar in the west and Longling County of Baoshan City in the north across the river. With an area of 2,642 square kilometers, Zhenkang County is one of the 25 border counties in Yunnan Province, with a long border of 96.358 kilometers, one national second-class port and six border market points, which is the front window of the national "One Belt, One Road" initiative, the construction of the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor and the construction of the Yunnan Radiation Center for South Asia and Southeast Asia.
Zhenkang County is a low-latitude mountainous southern subtropical monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 18.7 ℃ and rainfall of 1625.4 millimeters. Attractions within the territory are "a hole across two countries" South umbrella transnational cave, South Cupped River Nature Reserve. Local specialties include sour pickled vegetables, bamboo feast, chicken rice, and beef sausage. As of 2022, Zhenkang County has 3 towns and 4 townships under its jurisdiction, with the county government stationed in Nanxiao Town. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of Zhenkang County was 171,500 people. It is the second largest Deang settlement in the country.
In 2022, the annual gross domestic product (GDP) of Zhenkang County was 7,378,910,000 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.9%.In October 2017, Zhenkang County was named a national garden county by the Ministry of Housing and Construction.On January 25, 2019, Zhenkang County was selected as the 2018 national "Safe Agricultural Machinery" demonstration county.On April 30, 2019, the People's Government of Yunnan Province announced that Zhenkang County had been selected as a national "Safe Agricultural Machinery" demonstration county. On January 25, 2019, Zhenkang County was selected as the national "safe agricultural machinery" demonstration county in 2018.On April 30, 2019, the People's Government of Yunnan Province decided that Zhenkang County would withdraw from the sequence of poor counties.
