Pingda Township, belonging to Longling County, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province, is located in the southeastern part of Longling County, neighboring Mengnuo Township in the east, Mengcao Township in Zhenkang County, Lincang City, connected with Mucheng Yi Lisu Township in the south, bordering Xiangda Township in the west, and Xiangda Township and Bizhai Township in the north, with an area of 356.2 square kilometers of administrative area. As of the end of 2019, the household population of Pingda Township was 29,420.
In the 35th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1770), it belonged to Pingjia Gangtou; in 1984, it was changed to Pingda District; in December 1987, it was changed to Pingda Township.
