Anning, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Yunnan Province, is administered by Kunming. Located 32 kilometers southwest of Kunming City, it is a major transportation town leading to eight prefectures in western Yunnan Province and directly connected to Myanmar via Wanming. It is connected to Xishan District in the northeast, Jinning District in the southeast, and Yemen County and Lufeng City in Yuxi City in the west, with a total area of 1,301.81 square kilometers and an average elevation of 1,800 m.
