Urhe District, belonging to Karamay City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the north of Xinjiang, the northwest edge of Junggar Basin and the northeast of Karamay City, with a total area of 2229.19 square kilometers, accounting for 28.81% of the total area of Karamay City. Urho District has a temperate continental desert climate. As of June 2023, Urhe District has 1 street, 1 town, and 1 township.In 2019, Urhe District had a total population of 7,400 people. Before the Western Han Dynasty, Urho belonged to the Gushi State.In December 1990, the People's Government of Urho District was officially established. Urhe District is located in the main transportation route to Altay and Kanas Scenic Area, and National Highway 217 runs through the whole territory.On November 1, 2021, Urhe District was selected by Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Department of Culture and Tourism as the third batch of autonomous region's whole region tourism demonstration area public announcement list. The main attractions include World Devil City, Arik, and Poplar Forest. In 2023, Urhe District realizes a gross domestic product (GDP) of 1.57 billion yuan, an added value of industry above scale of 320 million yuan, an investment of 3.79 billion yuan in fixed assets of the whole society, a total retail sales of 160 million yuan of consumer goods, and 160 million yuan of income from the general public budget.
