Introduction
Hotan Region (Uyghur: خوتەنۋىلايىتى), is one of the five regions of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, resident Hotan City. Located in the southern corner of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the center is located at longitude 79.92° East, latitude 37.12° North, south of the Kunlun Mountains and the Tibet Autonomous Region, north of the Taklamakan Desert and Aksu, east of the Bayin'guoleng Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, west of the Kashgar region, southwest of the Karakorum Mountains as a border with the Kashmir border, east-west length of about 670 kilometers, north-south width of about 570 It is about 670 kilometers long from east to west and 570 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 248,100 square kilometers. Hotan region is a typical inland arid area, located in the hinterland of Eurasia, with arid desert climate, 36 rivers of different sizes in its territory, and it is a relatively rich area in China in terms of light energy resources. The territory is rich in mineral resources, famous for the abundance of Khotan Jade, and it is the famous Jade Hometown, Silk Hometown, Carpet Capital, and Melon and Fruit Hometown. Hotan is a multi-ethnic region with Uyghur as the main ethnic group, with 22 ethnic groups, including Uyghur, Han, Hui, Kazakh, and Kirgiz, etc.; within its territory, there are tourist attractions, such as the Niya Ruins, the Ancient City of Akspili, the Ancient City of Buylik Awati, the Ancient City of Khaldun, the Ancient City of Andir, the Ancient Fortress of Assa, as well as the Ruins of Yotkan.
