Celle County, belonging to Hotan Region of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southernmost part of Xinjiang, at the northern foothills of the Kunlun Mountains, at the southern edge of the Taklamakan Desert, crossing the Kunlun Mountains in the south to meet the border with Tibet; crossing the Desert Gobi in the southwest to meet the border with Hotan County; connecting to Lopu County in the west; neighboring Yutian County in the east; and connecting to the vast desert in the north with Shaya County in Aksu Region, with a total area of 31,592 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Celle County has 2 towns and 6 townships under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2019, Celle County had a household population of 168,903. Celle County is known as the "State of Jade and Gold, Warehouse of Grain and Cotton, Silk Road, and Home of Melon and Fruit", and there are many historical and cultural heritages of the Han and Tang dynasties represented by the Dama Gou Buddhist Ruins Complex and the Dandan Uyiliq Ancient City in its territory. In 2022, Celle County will realize a GDP of 3.244 billion yuan, up 4.0% year-on-year; a general public budget income of 220 million yuan, up 21.2% year-on-year; an annual full-caliber industrial added value of 139.5 million yuan, up 6.8% year-on-year; and 2.277 billion yuan of investment funds in place, up 16.8% year-on-year.
