Tianshan District, belonging to Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is the seat of the Party, government, military and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps organs of the autonomous region. Located in the southeastern part of Urumqi City, east and Shuimoqi District, Dazancheng District, west and Shaybak District, south and Urumqi County adjacent to the north and Shuimoqi District, with a total area of 245 square kilometers. The actual population is 695,300 people. As of June 2023, Tianshan District has 16 streets under its jurisdiction.
In the early years of the founding of New China, it was the first, second, third, fourth and fifth districts of Dihua City. 1957, the first, fourth and fifth districts were merged to establish Tianshan District. In 1960, Dosluk District was abolished and incorporated into Tianshan District.
In 2022, the gross regional product of Tianshan District was 43.969 billion yuan, a decrease of 1.3% from the previous year at comparable prices. Among them, the added value of primary industry is 0.11 billion yuan, the added value of secondary industry is 5.547 billion yuan; the added value of tertiary industry is 38.411 billion yuan, and the structure of three industries is 0.03:12.61:87.36.
