Shaybak District, belonging to Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southwest of Urumqi City, with a total area of 382 square kilometers. The climate of Shayibak District is mesothermal continental. As of October 2021, Shayibak District has 18 streets under its jurisdiction. The People's Government of the district is located in Yangzijiang Road Street.
In the 12th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1875), Dihua Prefecture was changed to the prefecture to add Dihua County. 1949, after the peaceful liberation of Xinjiang, the Municipal People's Government was set up, with 7 districts under its jurisdiction, and Shaybak District is the sixth district. The Lanxin Railway of the Eurasian Continental Bridge and the North-South Xinjiang Railway cross the urban area, and the 312 National Highway, 216 National Highway, Tuwu-Da Highway, Wukui Highway and the highways to various places in the North-South Xinjiang and the urban area are crisscrossed with roads, which form a well-connected transportation network of railroad lines, national highway lines, and highway lines.On December 12, 2017, Shaybak District was identified by the General Office of the State People's Committee as one of the third batch of the "Model Cities for Service Management of Ethnic Minority Mobile Population".
