Fengtai Town, belonging to Ninghe District of Tianjin City, is located in the north of Ninghe District, bordering with Fengrun District of Hebei Province in the north, connected with Banqiao Town in the south, adjoining Yuelong Town in the east and Yutian County of Hebei Province in the west. The administrative area covers 85.62 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Fengtai Town has a household population of 25,585. During the Tang Dynasty, Fengtai Town was under the jurisdiction of Yutian County. During the Yuan Dynasty, Fengtai Town was assigned to Fengrun County. In the second year of Ming Yongle (1404), Fengtai Township was set up.In 1984, Fengtai Township was established, with Xiaoli Township and Houjituo Township set aside as a single unit; in October 2001, Xiaoli Township and Houjituo Township were reallocated to Fengtai Township; in October 2015, Ninghe County was changed to Ninghe District, and Fengtai Township belonged to Ninghe District. As of June 2020, Fengtai Township has 28 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township's people's government is located at No. 1, South Street, Nancun. In 2016, Fengtai Town completed a total financial income of 8.53 million yuan, a decrease of 39.5% compared with the previous year.In 2019, Fengtai Town has 83 industrial enterprises, of which 2 are above the scale, and 29 general stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
