Wangguantun Town, belonging to Yanggao County, Datong City, Shanxi Province, is located in the western part of Yanggao County, bordering with Xiashanjing Township in the east, adjacent to Julebao Township in Yunzhou District in the south, bordering with Changcheng Township across the mountains in the west, and connected with Longquan Township in the north, with an area of 201.43 square kilometers of administrative area.
In 1949, it belonged to the twelfth district of Yanggao County; in 1984, Wangguantun Commune was changed to Wangguantun Town; in 2001, Zhujiayotou Township was merged into Wangguantun Town. As of the end of 2018, Wangguantun Town had a household population of 24,647.
