Chengcheng District is one of the former municipal districts of Datong City, Shanxi Province, abolished in 2018, located in the center of the Datong Basin, and is the political, economic and cultural center of Datong City. Neighboring Inner Mongolia to the north and Hebei to the east, it is 380 kilometers from Beijing and 352 kilometers from Taiyuan. The city is the gateway to the capital city and the gateway to Sanjin. The city was once the famous county of Qin and Han Dynasties, the Northern Wei Dynasty capital, Liao, Jin and Yuan Dynasties capital, the Ming and Qing Dynasties are set up Datong Province, so there is "a generation of capital city, three generations of Beijing, two dynasties town".
