Mingcun Town, belonging to Pingdu City, Qingdao, Shandong Province, is located in the western part of Pingdu City, on the east bank of JiaoLai River, neighboring Tianzhuang Town and Baibu Town in the east, connecting CuiJiaJi Town in the south, looking at ChangYi City across JiaoLai River in the west, and connecting MagoZhuang Town in the north. The total area of the jurisdiction is 246.81 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Mingcun Town had a household population of 84,783. During the Western Han Dynasty, the territory was divided into Yu-chi, Lu-xiang and Xia-mi counties.In December 1994, Qianlou Township was merged into Mingcun Township. As of June 2020, Mingcun Township has 1 community and 105 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township's people's government is located in Mingcun West. As of the end of 2019, there are 200 industrial enterprises in Mingcun Township, of which 22 are above scale, and 92 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with business area of 50 square meters or more.
