Baiyan Town, belonging to Pingyi County, Linyi City, Shandong Province, is located in the southwestern part of Pingyi County, at the junction of Linyi City, Zaozhuang City, Jining City, Pingyi County, Shanting District, and Zoucheng City, neighboring the former Weizhuang Township in the east, bordering Zaozhuang City in the south, Jining City in the west, and Liyu Township in the north, with an area of 192 square kilometers of administrative area. As of the end of 2019, Baiyan Town has a household population of 86,402.
As early as 5,000 or 6,000 years ago, there were ancestors laboring and prospering here; on August 6, 1985, 30 administrative villages were newly set up as Huangpo Township from 99 administrative villages in Baiyan District; later Baiyan District was withdrawn from the district and set up as Baiyan Township; in January 2001, Huangpo Township and Shanyin Township were merged into Baiyan Township. As of June 2020, Baiyan Township has 10 communities and 31 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
