Dong'a Town, belonging to Pingyin County, Jinan City, Shandong Province, is located in the southwestern part of Pingyin County, bordering Kongcun Town in the east and southeast, Hongfanchi Town and Old County Township of Dongping County, Tai'an City in the south, adjoining Old County Township of Dongping County in the southwest, Yuoshan Township of Dong'a County, Liaocheng City in the west across the Yellow River, Dong'a County in the northwest across the Yellow River, Roses Town in the north, and Rose Town in the northeast. The total area of the administrative region is 81.89 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Dong'a Town had a household population of 38,184. In October 1949, Dong'a was the fifth district of Pingyin.In 1952, it was Dong'a Town.In 1984, the commune was abolished and Dong'a District was established.On September 20, 1985, the district was abolished and the township was restored as Dong'a Town. As of June 2020, Dong'a Township has 55 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the government of the township people's government is located in Dongmen Village.
