Linshu County, belonging to Linyi City, Shandong Province, is located in the southeastern part of Linyi City, relying on Jounan County in the north, relying on the Hedong District and the Municipal Economic Development Zone of Linyi City in the west, bordering with Tancheng County in the southwest, and adjoining with the Ganyu District of Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, and the East Sea County in the southeast, with a regional area of 1010.19 square kilometers, with a high topography in the northeast, and a low topography in the west and the south, and with a climate type of semi-moist continental climate of a warm-temperature monsoon area with an average annual temperature of 13℃. As of October 2022, Linshu County has 2 streets and 7 towns under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, Linshu County had a resident population of 575,200.
Linshu County is named after the Shu River. Linshu is the hometown of diamonds and willow weaving in China, and human beings have been living here for more than 7,000 years. The establishment of Linshu County began in the early Han Dynasty. In July, 1940, it was renamed Cangma Office. In August 1941, Linshu County was renamed Linshu County and in March 1956, Linshu County was abolished and in August 1961, Linshu County was restored. Linshu County is an old revolutionary area. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, Linshu was the seat of Shandong's Party, Government and military leadership, where revolutionaries of the older generation such as Liu Shaoqi, Chen Yi, Luo Ronghuan and Xu Xiangqian had fought and lived. Linshu County has been awarded the honorary titles of National Advanced County for Scientific and Technological Progress, National Sanitary County, National Ecological Demonstration Zone, National Garden County, National Base for Transformation and Upgrading of Foreign Trade, National Basic Balanced County for Compulsory Education Development, National Advanced County for Grassroots Traditional Chinese Medicine, and so on.
In 2022, Linshu County will realize a GDP of 24.95 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 5% at constant prices.
