Pengxi County, belonging to Suining City, Sichuan Province, is located in the east-central part of the Sichuan Basin and the middle reaches of the Fuling River, between longitude 105°03′~105°59′E and latitude 30°22′~30°56′N, with a subtropical temperate and humid monsoon climate, mild climate, abundant rainfall, and four distinct seasons, with a total area of 1,251 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of Pengxi County was 417,000 people. As of June 2023, Pengxi County has 1 street, 17 towns and 2 townships under its jurisdiction, and the People's Government of Pengxi County is located at No. 88 Zhengtong Street, Chicheng Township.
Pengxi County has a long history and culture. Pengxi County, the Eastern Jin Dynasty Yonghe eleven years (335 years), began to set up Baxing County, and then changed its name several times, and neighboring counties, in the Tang Tianbao first year (742 years) to change the Tang Xing County for Pengxi County, the name of the county has been used since. 1952, under the Suining Prefecture. 1958, transferred to the Mianyang Prefecture. May 1985, Suining City, was established, Pengxi County is subordinate to the Suining City.
Pengxi County is the "Old Revolutionary Region of China", the hermitage of Yan Junping, a famous Taoist scholar in the late Western Han Dynasty, the ancestral home of Ming Dynasty Chancellor Xishu, Qing Dynasty Chancellor Zhang Penghe, and the great poet Zhang Qitao. Tourist attractions in the territory include Chicheng Lake, Tangxing Academy, Summit Mountain, China Red Sea, White Pagoda Zen Temple, Kuang Jixun Park, Baofan Temple, Changle Temple, Gao Dong Temple, etc.
