Dongchan Town, part of Anju District, Suining City, Sichuan Province, is located in the western part of Anju District, bordering Anju Town in the east, Tongxian Town, Bamiao Township and Shigu Township in Anyue County in the south, Banshui Town in the west, and Baima Town and Shidong Town in the north. The area is 84.43 square kilometers, with a household population of 51,660 as of the end of 2018.
In the Qing Dynasty, the field town was built. In the Republic of China, it belonged to the Sixth District of Suining County.In 1950, a district office was set up, later renamed the Upstream District.In 1979, the name was changed to Dongchan District.In 1985, an office was set up.In September 1992, it was changed to Dongchan Town. As of June 2020, Dongzen Town has 1 community and 20 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
In 2018, Dongchan Town had 7 industrial enterprises and 23 general stores or supermarkets with business area over 50 square meters.
