Gao Cave Town, belonging to Dazhu County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province, is located in the southern part of Dazhu County, east of Zhoujia Town, south of Mama Town; west of Miaoba Town, north of Chuanmaster Township, with an administrative area of 60.2 square kilometers. During the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Dangqu County of Ba County; during the Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Dazhu County; in June 2000, the township was changed to Gao'ao Township.In February 2004, Wucang Township was merged into Gao'ao Township.In 2019, Gao'ao Township had a total population of 31,000 people. As of June 2020, High Cave Township has 2 communities and 9 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the township's people's government stationed in Madaozi Village.
