Jialing District, belonging to Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, is located in the northeastern part of the Sichuan Basin, the southwestern part of Nanchong City, the west bank of the middle reaches of the Jialing River, north of Shunqing District, Xichong County, southwest of Suining City, southeast of Guang'an City, east of Gaoping District. It lies between longitude 105°45′0″-106°0′0″E and latitude 30°27′30″-30°52′30″N, with a total area of 1,179 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Jialing District has a total of 5 streets, 17 towns, and 2 townships under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, Jialing District had a resident population of 525,000 people.
Before Tang Yao and Yu Shun, Jialing was the "Land of the Yogo Clan", and since the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it has been the seat of capitals, prefectures, prefectures, provinces, and departments, with a history of more than 2,200 years since the establishment of Anhan County in the Han Dynasty. Cultural elements mainly include landscape culture characterized by Jialing River, Fengya Mountain and other mountains and water as the typical natural environment; red culture characterized by Nanchong West District Revolutionary Guerrillas and other typical features; historical culture carried by cultural relics such as Qibao Temple Shuyuan Group, Tianba Guild Hall, Yanglong Temple and other cultural relics; and silk culture characterized by the first workshop of the thousand-year silk capital, Silk Culture Theme Park, and other typical characteristics of silk culture, and so on.
In 2022, Jialing District realized a gross regional product of 23.6 billion yuan, of which the added value of the primary industry was 5.01 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 10.13 billion yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry was 8.45 billion yuan. The ratio of the structure of the three industries is 21.3:42.9:35.8.
