Jinbao Town, belonging to Jialing District, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, is located in the northwestern part of Jialing District, east of Xichong County, connected with Shuanggui Town in the south, neighboring Longbao Town in the west, bordering Longquan Town in the north, 37 kilometers away from the urban area of Jialing District, with a total area of 45.78 square kilometers.
In the second year of Xuantong of Qing Dynasty (1910), Jinbao Township was set up; in August 1994, it was changed from Jinbao Township to Jinbao Township.In October 2019, Jixian Township was abolished and transferred to the jurisdiction of Jinbao Township.
