Longquanyi District, part of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is located in the eastern part of the central city of Chengdu, bordering Jinjiang District in the west, Tianfu New District Chengdu Direct Management Area in the southwest, Xindu District in the north, Chenghua District in the northwest, and Qingbaijiang District, Jintang County, and Jianyang City in the east, making it the center of Chengdu, with a total area of 557 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Longquanyi District has seven streets and three towns under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, Longquanyi District had a resident population of 1,363,700.
Longquanyi District is the seat of Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone, Tianfu New Area-Longquan High-end Manufacturing Industry Functional Zone, Chengdu Sino-French Eco-Park, the Sino-German Demonstration Base for Intelligent Networked Vehicles granted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the host of the 31st World Summer Universiade, and the "Hometown of China's Peach" officially named by the State Council.
In 2023, Longquanyi District will realize a GDP of 150.25 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 6.1%, of which the added value of the primary industry will be 2.17 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 2.1%, the added value of the secondary industry will be 88.02 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 6.0%, the added value of the tertiary industry will be 60.06 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 6.6%, and the ratio of the tertiary industry will reach 40%.
