Caichang Town (abolished), formerly under Dayi County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, is located in the southeastern part of Dayi County, connected with Shaqu Town in the east, intersected with Hanchang Town in the south, bordered with Anren Town in the west, and neighboring with Dongchang Town in the north. The town people's government is 25 kilometers away from Dayi County. The total area is 21.61 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, the household population was 20,217.
During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the old Nanzhong Township in the eighth district of Shinan Township.In July 2002, the township was changed to a town. As of October 2019, it has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 4 administrative villages, with the township people's government stationed at 109 Wanfu Street.On December 23, 2019, Shachu Township, Dongchang Township, Caichang Township, Shang'an Township, Hanchang Township, Sujia Township, Sanqiao Township, Xiyuan Township and Qingxia Township were abolished, and Shachu Street and Qingxia Street were established.
In 2011, the per capita net income of farmers was 9,151 yuan. As of the end of 2019, Jinxing Township had 35 general stores or supermarkets with business area of more than 50 square meters.
