Hanchang Town (has been abolished), formerly belonging to Dayi County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, is located in the southeastern part of Dayi County, east of Shaqu and Xinjin County, south of Qionglai City, west of Anren Town border, north of Caichang Town. The town people's government is located about 25 kilometers away from Dayi County. The total area is 20.76 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Hanchang Town had a household population of 17,836.
During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Nanzhong Township.In January 1993, it was merged with Caichang Town to form Hanchang Town. As of October 2019, Hanchang Township has 2 communities and 4 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the township people's government stationed at No. 90 Daxin Road.On December 23, 2019, the townships of Shachu, Dongchang, Caichang, Shang'an, Hanchang, Sujia, Sanqiao, Xiyuan and Qingxia were eliminated, and the towns of Shachu and Qingxia were established.
