Jinfeng District, belonging to Yinchuan City, the capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, is located in the central part of the city, centrally located between longitude 106°06'~106°28' and latitude 38°25'~38°38', bordered by Tangliquan Canal in the east and Xingqing District, connected with Xixia District in the west and Baolan Railway, connected with Yongning County in the south, and Heran County in the north, and it is the administrative center, cultural center, commerce and trade center, high-tech industrial park cluster area, good environmental residential area and the natural landscape area of Seishang Lake City of the city's development plan. The total area is 353 square kilometers. According to the seventh population census data, as of zero hour on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Jinfeng District was 643,952 people. As of the end of 2020, Jinfeng District has 2 towns and 6 streets under its jurisdiction. The People's Government of the district is stationed in Changchengzhong Road Street.
On November 1, 2002, Jinfeng District was officially established. Jinfeng District is located in the middle of Yinchuan Plain, belonging to the middle temperate continental climate. The district has a well-developed water system, with landscape waterways running through the north and south, Huayan Lake, Diannong River, Yihai (West Lake), and Qizilian Lake, which are scattered all over the district. It has won a number of national honors such as National Leisure Agriculture and Rural Tourism Demonstration Area, National Basic Balanced Compulsory Education Development Area, and Advanced Unit of National Legal System County (City and District) Creation Activity.
In 2020, Jinfeng District realized a regional GDP of 30.166 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.5% at comparable prices. The added value of primary industry will be 535 million yuan, up 0.2% year-on-year; the added value of secondary industry will be 5.934 billion yuan, up 6.6% year-on-year; and the added value of tertiary industry will be 23.697 billion yuan, up 2.7% year-on-year.
