The Yinchuan National Economic and Technological Development Zone is a national-level development zone established in 2001 with the approval of the State Council. It has a planned area of 67.56 square kilometers and a built-up area of 45.5 square kilometers.In recent years, the Yinchuan Economic and Technological Development Zone has fully implemented the work plans of the autonomous region and Yinchuan City. In accordance with the development requirements to build a “model city for the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin” and a “city leading in innovative development,” and with a focus on the construction goals of the “Three Capitals and Five Bases” and a “100-billion-yuan-level industrial park,”It has preliminarily established a “3+2” modern industrial system, comprising three leading industries—new materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, and healthcare—and two emerging industries—the digital economy and modern logistics—while accelerating the cultivation of new productive forces with regional characteristics.As of the end of 2024, the zone was home to over 10,000 business entities, including 397 industrial enterprises, 110 industrial enterprises above designated size, 145 national high-tech enterprises, 601 autonomous region-level science and technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, 195 innovation platforms of various types, and 54 foreign-invested enterprises. The total operating revenue of enterprises meeting the “four above” criteria exceeded 100 billion yuan, with a total import and export volume of 4.38 billion yuan.The area has successively been awarded honorary titles such as National New Industrialization Industrial Demonstration Base, National Green Industrial Park, National Intellectual Property Pilot Park, and National Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Demonstration Base.
