Zhanggao Town, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Ulaanchab City, Xinghe County town under the jurisdiction of Xinghe County, is located in the southwest of Xinghe County, east and Chengguan Town as a neighbor, south and store adjacent to the town, west and Fengzhen City, Longshengzhuang town junction, north and Ordnance Town border, the administrative area of 263.95 square kilometers.
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was the main thoroughfare of Mongolia and the naturalized area to the imperial city of Beijing, and it was the transportation hub that communicated between the frontier and the mainland; in the 40th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1775), it was named Zhanggao Town, and Gaomiao Zi Inspector was moved here; in August 1984, Zhanggao Commune was changed to a town; in March 2006, Datongtian Township was merged into Zhanggao Town. As of the end of 2018, Zhanggao Town had a household population of 21,572. As of June 2020, Zhanggao Town has 10 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
