Maihutu Town, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Ulaanchab City, Liangcheng County, under the jurisdiction of the town, is located in the eastern part of Liangcheng County, east of the town with the Fengzhen Sanyiquan Township border, south of Tiancheng Township as a neighbor, west of Daihai Township, north of Zhuozhi County, Daiyushu Township and eighteen Taiwan Township, the administrative region covers an area of 228.05 square kilometers.
In the thirty-seventh year of the Republic of China (1948), the second district of Fengzhen was divided into four districts of Liangcheng; in 1968, the name was changed to Maihutu Commune; in June 2005, Maihutu Township was changed to a town. As of the end of 2018, Maihutu Township had a household population of 29,106. As of June 2020, there are 13 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of Maihutu Town.
In 2011, the per capita net income of farmers in Maihutu Township was 5,991 yuan.In 2018, there were 16 general stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Maihutu Township.
