Xiwuzhumqin Banner, a flag under the jurisdiction of Xilingol League in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the central-eastern part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the northeastern part of Xilingol League, at the northern foot of the Daxing'anling Mountains, with an arid and semi-arid continental climate in the middle temperate zone, adjoining seven banners and counties (cities), and covering a total area of 22,434.5 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Xiwuzhumqin Banner has jurisdiction over 5 towns, 2 soums, and another 2 townships. As of the end of 2022, Xiwuzhumqin Banner had a resident population of 101,900 people.
"Urumqin" is the Mongolian language, meaning picking grapes, according to records Urumqin tribes living in the 13th century in the Altai Mountains around the Grape Mountain, the 17th century in the middle of the settlement, and thus the name. In 2023, the economic operation of the whole flag showed an overall stable and steady development trend. According to the results of the unified accounting of flag and county gross domestic product, the gross domestic product of the whole flag in 2023 amounted to 21.702 billion yuan, which was calculated according to the constant price and increased by 6.2% compared with that of the previous year. In terms of sub-industry, the added value of primary industry is 2.248 billion yuan, an increase of 5.7% over the previous year; the added value of secondary industry is 16.651 billion yuan, an increase of 6.0% over the previous year; and the added value of tertiary industry is 2.803 billion yuan, an increase of 7.7% over the previous year.
