Xinghe County, a county under the jurisdiction of Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the south-central part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the southeastern part of Ulanqab, at the northern foothills of the Yinshan Mountains, with a semi-arid climate of the mid-temperate continental monsoon and adjoining eight banners and counties (cities), with a total area of 3,518 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Xinghe County has 5 towns and 4 townships under its jurisdiction. As of March 2023, the resident population of Xinghe County was 167,881 people.
The name of the county, Xinghe, was adopted from Xinghe Lu in the Yuan Dynasty. The first year of the Republic of China (1912), Xinghe change hall set up county, because the county people's government stationed in Xinghe, and so named. Republic of China eighteen years (1929), Xinghe County assigned to Suiyuan Province; 1958, assigned to the Ulanchab League; in December 2003, Ulanchab removed the League set up a city, Xinghe County belongs to the city of Ulanchab; February 24, 2020, Xinghe County has reached the exit standards for poor counties, will be withdrawn from the sequence of impoverished counties in accordance with the procedure. The main attractions of Xinghe County include Tsar Lake, Sumushan Forest Park, Huanghuariang Ecological Park, etc. On December 2, 2021, Xinghe County was selected as the "2017-2020 Safe China Construction Demonstration County List". on January 3, 2023, Xinghe County was selected as the "National Model County for Protection of Minors". In 2022, Xinghe County realized a gross domestic product (GDP) of 6.567 billion yuan, an increase of 7.1% year-on-year; fixed asset investment of 2.378 billion yuan, an increase of 48.5% year-on-year; general public budget revenue of 179 million yuan, an increase of 6.5% year-on-year; disposable income per capita of urban and rural residents of 34,905 yuan and 14,392 yuan, an increase of 6.5% and 9% year-on-year, respectively.
