Taiping District, part of Fuxin City, Liaoning Province, is located in the southeastern part of Fuxin City (on the south bank of the Xihe River), with the central geographic coordinates of 121°38′55″East Longitude and 42°00′40″North Latitude. It is adjacent to Haizhou District in the west and north, starting from Sunjiwan Nanshan in the south, and bordering with Xihe District and Fuxin Mongolian Autonomous County in the east and south. It is 11.30 kilometers long from east to west and 4.95 kilometers wide from north to south, with an administrative area of 94.79 square kilometers. As of June 2020, Taiping District has three streets and one town under its jurisdiction: Mangrove Street, Gaode Street, Sun Jiawan Street and Shuiquan Town, with the district people's government stationed at No. 1 Taiping Street, southwest of Mangrove Square. According to the seventh census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Taiping District City was 142,171 people.
On March 18, 1948, Fuxin was liberated; on April 18 of the same year, the Fuxin municipal government was established, and the city set up three districts, with Taiping District as the second district of Fuxin City. in May 1960, due to the communization of the city, the Taiping District People's Committee was changed to the Taiping Commune Committee. in June 1980, it was changed to the People's Government of Taiping District. The terrain of Taiping District is divided into mountainous, hilly and fine river plains three parts, belongs to the middle temperate continental monsoon arid climate, the rivers in the territory are fine river, Changhada River, Gao Deyingzi River, Tazigou River, Shuiquan River 5, mostly seasonal rivers, the main natural disasters are landslides, land subsidence, ground subsidence, and so on.
In 2020, Taiping District will realize an average annual growth rate of 3.16% in gross regional product, an average annual growth rate of 21% in general public budget revenue, and an average annual growth rate of 7% in per capita disposable income of urban residents.
