Changping Township, belonging to Shangli County, Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the north of Pingxiang City, south of Shangli County, east of Futian Township, Fuziling, south of Xiangdong Huoyao Township, Shiling Village, west of Liling City, Hunan Province, Bailutan Penglai Ridge, north of Shangli Township, Miaoling Village. It is 20 kilometers away from Shangli County, with a total area of 93.53 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Changping Township had a household population of 49,014.
In the second year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1876), it was renamed Tanggong Township; in 1997, it belonged to Shangli County, and as of June 2020, Changping Township has 19 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
