The Pingxiang Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in 1992 and was upgraded to a national-level development zone in 2010. Following its expansion in 2021, the zone now covers a total area of 120 square kilometers. The zone serves as the primary hub for Pingxiang’s industrial transformation and upgrading; by 2025, the value added by emerging industries (new materials, intelligent manufacturing, green food, and electronic information) is projected to account for 53.5% of the total industrial output of enterprises above designated size, surpassing traditional industries for the first time.
