Anyuan District, belonging to Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province, is the seat of the CPC Pingxiang Municipal Committee and Municipal Government, and the center of politics, economy, commerce, culture, science and education, and transportation in Pingxiang City. The district is located in the western part of Jiangxi Province, central Pingxiang City, adjacent to Hunan Province, with a total area of 198.78 square kilometers. Historically, it is known as "the throat of Wu and Chu, and the thoroughfare of Gan and Xiang". Anyuan is the birthplace of the Chinese workers' revolutionary movement and the main outbreak place of the Autumn Harvest Uprising. In the 1920s, Mao Zedong, Liu Shaoqi, and Li Lisan led the workers' revolution here, creating 15 of the country's first "earliest party branches among industrial workers" and "earliest local CPC party schools", and Anyuan is known as the "Moscow of the East". Anyuan is known as the "Moscow of the East" and the "base camp of the proletariat".
