Duchang County, belonging to Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the north of Jiangxi Province, near Poyang Lake, living in the center of the "Golden Triangle" of Nanchang, Jiujiang and Jingdezhen, with Wushui in the south and Yangtze River in the north, and the Hangzhou-Rui Expressway, Jiujingqu Railway and Dujiu Expressway intersecting the county. The county covers an area of 2669.5 square kilometers, with 24 townships and 259 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.At the end of 2022, the resident population of Duchang County was 554,092.
Duchang was set up in the sixth year of Han Gaozu (201 years ago) and is one of the 18 civilized ancient counties in Jiangxi Province, which has spawned such historical celebrities as Tao Kan, a great horseman of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Liu Qi, a famous general in the Song Dynasty who fought against the Jin Dynasty, and Jiang Wanli, a patriotic prime minister of the Southern Song Dynasty. Hangrui Expressway, Jiu Jing Qu Railway and Du Jiu Expressway intersect the territory. There are tourism resources such as Duo Bao Sha Mountain, Lao Yao Miao Waters, Zhu Cai Mountain, and Ma An Island in the territory.
In 2022, the gross regional product of Duchang County will be 25.97 billion yuan, a net increase of 1.28 billion yuan or 2.0% over the same period in 2021.
