Leping City, subordinate to Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province, a planned city in Jiangxi Province, is located in the northeast of Jiangxi Province, at the border between the edge of the Poyang Lake Basin and the hilly area of northern Gan, across the middle reaches of the Le'an River, and between longitude 116°53'-117°32' east and latitude 28°42'-29°13' north. In the first year of Guanghe of the Eastern Han Dynasty (178), Leping County was established, and the county town was located in Yincheng Castle (present-day Yincheng peddler in Dexing City). It was named "Leping" because the county town was "bordered by Le'an River in the south and Pinglin in the north", and on September 21, 1992, approved by the State Council, Leping County was abolished and Leping City was established. There are Jingying Expressway and Changde Expressway passing through the city, and there are Anhui-Gan Railway, Lede Railway (freight transportation) and Hangchang High-speed Railway in the city. Leping is a famous historical and cultural city in Jiangxi Province, the "Museum of Chinese Ancient Opera Stage", known as the "Hometown of Gan Opera", a pollution-free vegetable production base in Jiangxi Province and the nationally famous "Jiangnan Vegetable Township". It is the pollution-free vegetable production base in Jiangxi Province and the national famous "Jiangnan vegetable town", known as "the town of fish and rice". Leping has humanistic attractions such as Leping Ancient City, Guanyin Pavilion, Dongshan Temple, Leping Ancient Theater, and the former site of the Red 10th Army, as well as natural tourist attractions such as Wenshan Stone Forest Scenic Spot, Liju Temple, Honggong Ancestral Temple, Hungyan Scenic Spot, Cuiping Lake, and so on.
In 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Leping City will be 43.923 billion yuan, an increase of 4.8% over the previous year.
