Jingdezhen City, also known as "Porcelain City", Jiangxi Province, prefecture-level city, located in the northeast of Jiangxi Province, northwest and Anhui Province, Dongzhi County junction, south and Wannian County as a neighbor, the west with Poyang County border, the northeast leaning on the Qimen County, Anhui Province, southeast and Wuyuan County adjacent. It lies between 116°57′-117°42′E longitude and 28°44′-29°56′N latitude, with a total area of 5,256 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Jingdezhen has two municipal districts, one county-level city, and one county under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2023, the total resident population of Jingdezhen was 1,166,700 people.
Jingdezhen was established in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and was first called "Changnan", later renamed "Xinping", and governed by Jiangzhou; in the first year of Tianbao of the Tang Dynasty (742), it was renamed "Furiang"; in the first year of Jingde of the Northern Song Dynasty, it was renamed "Jingdezhen". The name "Jingdezhen", governed by the Fuyang County; after liberation from the Fuyang County, set up Jingdezhen City; in 1960, Fuyang County merged into Jingdezhen City. Jingdezhen is the porcelain capital of the world, the cradle of China's helicopter industry, one of the first batch of national historical and cultural cities, the world capital of handicrafts and folk art, China's most charming cultural tourism city and the national ecological civilization construction demonstration city.
In 2022, Jingdezhen realized a regional GDP of 119.219 billion yuan, of which the added value of the primary industry was 7.542 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 53.349 billion yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry was 58.328 billion yuan. The structure ratio of the three industries is 6.3:44.8:48.9. The per capita GDP is 73,538 yuan, equivalent to 10,933 U.S. dollars.
