Legang Town, belonging to Leping City, Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southwestern part of Leping City, 2 kilometers away from downtown Leping, on the north bank of Le'an River, south of Wannian County and west of Poyang County. The administrative area covers 109.7 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, the registered population of Legang Town was 87,220.
In October 1958, the district was abolished and the township was established as Port Commune.In May 1984, the commune was abolished and changed to Port Township.In December 1988, the township was abolished and established as a town.In 2011, Guanfeng Township was abolished and merged into Legang Town. As of July 2020, Legang Town has 5 communities and 28 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. The people's government of the town is located in Harbor Village.
In 2011, the total financial income of Legang Town was 65 million yuan, an increase of 30% over the previous year.
