Shicheng County, under the jurisdiction of Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southeastern part of Jiangxi Province and the northeastern part of Ganzhou. Since ancient times, Shicheng has been a necessary place for Jiangxi to enter western Fujian and eastern Guangdong, and is known as "the thoroughfare of Fujian and Guangdong". The county has a total area of 1,567 square kilometers. Shicheng, named after the "rocky mountains that rise up like a city". In April 2019, the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government agreed that Shicheng County should formally withdraw from the poverty-stricken county.In 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Shicheng County amounted to 10,423,310,000 yuan, with an increase of 4.7% compared with that of 2021 according to the comparable price.
